I think humans have done more damage. Maybe capture and breed to help balance the eco system.
Place them back where they belong. Long shot. I know. A place to start...

Bufo Bufo or Bufus Marinus is native to South America and was introduced here (U.S.) to combat bugs in the cane fields of South Florida, the thing has multiply by the millions threatening the Eco System, killing dogs that dare bite them, they are extremely toxic because of poison glands on their back, they're eating the dog food right out the bowls. soiling floors, etc  I don't know if there is a "Kill on sight" order but I'm doing it no matter what
