Judy,

"Brood" would be proper, as in "Brood Care," especially from livebearers. "Batch" would also be appropriate. If these fry were the result of egg-layers, "spawn' would be proper -- and would not apply only to the deposited eggs at this time. When sufficiently reared beyond a certain point where the fry would no longer be in imminent danger of perishing from the difficulties of raising them, it is described as having reared a successful spawn of fish.
