I posted a while back about my luck with aponogeton bulbs. My
replacement bulbs arrived a couple of weeks ago and 9 of 10 sprouted.
Not bad.
But I seem to remember saying that all varieties bloomed. I was wrong.
What I got this time seems to be A. undulatus and instead of blooming
they put out new plants on the end of a "flower" stalk. Three of my 9
plants are already doing so. I assume that eventually they come off the
stalk and sink to the bottom, but none have done so yet.
Anyway, if all works out I should have an excess of aponogetons in the
future. I'll post then and see if anyone wants them - after I ask a
couple of local fishkeepers.
