The one bulb of this Walmart batch that did sprout appears to be A.
natans. Long stems with strap shaped leaves that lay on the surface.
At any given time it has 1 or 2 bloom stalks going as well. But all I
see looking into the aquarium is some long skinny stems. I have to look
in the top to see the pretty stuff. If I get some better varieties the
natans will probably be tossed out.

But the point I was trying to make was that apparently they all have
above/on the surface blooms. But I haven't noticed any fragrance from
the natans.
