Glub sure loves to munch on plants. Watching him rip off leafs is so much fun!
I can't see myself ever buying a brand new tank. I just love getting used tanks
for next to nothing compared to the new price.

I'll undoubtedly get flamed for this, but I think with lots of
filtration and live plants a 55 gallon tank would be sufficient for 2 or
3 fancy goldfish, although not for comets or shubunkins.

By lots of filtration, I mean a canister filter with a spray bar like:

I'd suggest an XP2 or XP3.
