I grew up in the Texas panhandle and one time while I was fishing in some ponds, I was being eaten alive by deer flies plus a few horse flies. I was packing p to leave but as I was packing up along came several dragonflies and withing a minute or so the deer flies and horse flies were gone. It was like the calvary had come and driven off the enemy.
