Hello my friends...
After three months since my last fishing trip I went fish yesterday with my father in a stocked pond.
I have to admit that it's not as fun as used to be to fish in a stocked pond after fishing in wild rivers like those where I've been.... but...
It was a nice day...
While I was performing long casts fishing for the big tambaqui my father was fishing for the big brazilian catfish that live in that pond casting a few meters from shore...
At this place the tambaqui usually bites only at the side of lake where is not allowed to fish so I was casting at least 70 meters with a long pole...
I hooked fisrt... a big tambaqui... but the fish has cut the line when it was about 30 feet from shore... by it's tail size (the only thing I could see) I can say it was a minimum 22 pounder...
30 minutes later my father caught this beautiful 26lb cachara... he used a medium-light gear (15lb rod) and a half of an hour to land this beauty... it was funny to see his spool empty and he telling me: "the line is over, what do I do..." LOL.... he started to run atfer the fish at the bank while he tried to hold the line in his hands avoiding the line to brake.... the fish ran taking 80 yards of line with it....
I caught one more tambaqui not as big as the first (probably a 20 pounder) and guess what: the guy has released itself too :(
I caught some big matrinxãs too but we don't take pictures of it cause some days we catch dozens of this fish...
My father caught one more cachara less than the fisrt one.
That's it!
As you may notice my English is worse than ever but I still trying to go out and catch some fish now and then...
