Sue, I would try adding more plants (live or fake no matter) and decor and try making sure it covers each level of the tank (upper 1/3, middle 1/3, lower 1/3). The more territory in the tank the better chance the fish will be peaceful. Even aggressive fish can become much more peaceful if there is plenty of extra territory.

Hi again,
Another guppy problem:
I only have one remaining male guppy after losing one a couple of weeks ago. My problem now is he has become very agressive to the other fish swimming at them and the last couple of days actually banging his nose into them. I have had this fish from the start (February) and I noticed before when I had several guppies, he tended to be a bit aggressive towards them but not to the other fish in the tank.
To recap I have a 70 litre tank with
1 male guppy
1 panda catfish
7 tetra (2 cardinal, 1 neon, 3 little fire lights, 1 black neon)
(tank water still very good no amonia, nitrite and only 10 nitrate)
My aim is to only have two varieties in this tank to enable them to shoal. I will be getting a large tank but cannot finance it at the moment.
Would it help the situation if I got a female guppy or a couple of new male ones? I dont want to overcrowd the tank so the fish start dieing again... Should I just wait and see if the fish settles down.
Any advice would be apprieciated
Thanks
