Thanks for your help. I guess I'll setup the 50 gallon tank I was given.
Years ago I had 35 tanks. 10 gal upto 30 gallons. A friend went out of business then.
So I really appreciate your help.

> As examples to offer, my fantail goldfish (Freddy) is 9 inches in length and about 5+ yrs old now. He was full grown by the time he was 2 1/2 -3 yrs old. He is currently in a 120 gallon tank and keeping water quality in good condition is very hard due to the heavy waste output. (and no, he is not overfed... he gets about 6 - 10 pellets/day and 30% water changes 2 - 3 times/wk) One of my angelfish pairs is now in a 65 gallon tank with a cory catfish, and due to their aggression level and size, there is not a whole lot more that will fit into that tank, and they are only about 2 yrs old and still growing.Â

So I traded most for 2 small angelfish and a small fantail goldfish Then my daughter boought me a small snail. all was fine until last week. All my mollie started to die 1 or 2 a day then the snail who had doubled in size. Does anyone have any Ideas? Now that the snail is gone I noticed some of the alge was a dark almost black color. Yes we have the hardest water I've ever seen.
