Marianne, Please don't try to build your own, there is no good plans for a good skimmer out there. I can tell you don't waste your mony on a CRP, they are the same as having nothing, I don't know about a turbofloater, never had any experance with it. I use ASM exclusivly, they are the best skimmers on the market, uses a pinwheel impeller and they are about $150.00 for the size you need. The sedra pump has a 2 year warranity. I hope this helps !

Are you handy? If you build it yourself, you can do it for a lot cheaper than store bought. Google skimmer plans and you will see a bunch....If not, then check out the turbofloter or CPR. I personally don't like either, but Ebay has many used, better skimmers that can save some bucks....or Craigslist...... Rick
