Amy,
They still need to know what your tank water runs even though the fish isn't in
it right now. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH. Size of tank too.

Hi,
I'm new to this group, my name is Amy. Donna from Froggy friends told me to join
here to get some help with my goldfish.
Any help much appreciated. I was cleaning tank out today and by accident my
lionhead goldfish investigated the siphon and his face got sucked in, it was so
quick :( and now he has a flap of skin hanging from underneath his mouth. He
also has a gash on his back.
I have removed him from the main tank and put him into a small 5 gal tank with a
bubbler. I used stress coat and prime. I didnt do any ammonia etc because i used
prime and the water has only a bit from the old tank, its predominantly new
water. I can do it if required though.
I added 1 teaspoon of aquarium salt.
There is no blood or redness, the gash on the back i can see silver like his
scales have come off. His mouth is just as if when you cut your finger and
theres a fap of skin hanging. I can imagine its very painful I feel terrible, it
was a horrible accident.
I cant find my melafix but am sending bf to the lfs tomorrow now, because its
nearly midnight. I am in the uk so dont have access to antibiotics and some
other things.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do, because my poor marshmallow must
be sore and i feel helpless.
Amy x
