Plecos short for plecostomus(miss spelled I am sure) are vegetarian. There are large number of fish types that will eat the prepared flakes. You would need to give tank size filtration type you local water pH and hardness ect.. for us to give you the best types of fish for you. Another type of fish real coomon in the pet trade are Mbuna cichlids. These fish are agressive towards each other but eat pellets/flakes and veggies/algae. Algae is their natural diet. You need a larger tank(55 gallon atleast) with either stacked or holey rocks. Again their natural habitat is rocks banks simular to coral reefs in a hard water lake.

Anyone know any good fish that only need flake foods
and veggies/algae? My mom doesn't want me to
have a fish that needs bloodworms or meat.
Or can someone post something that might
change my mother's mind?
Thanks!
