[tropical fish club] rainbow fungus?

 

I just noticed this morning that one of my Batanta Island rainbowfish
has a cottony growth coming out of one gill. Looks like fungus. I can
treat with either Maroxy or Pimafix. Any one have a reason to prefer
one over the other?

I might also put in some Maracyn or the like in case it's bacterial.
Good idea or bad?
