Check out this site and see if you can identify what kind you have.
What and how much are you feeding? The cause of your snail out break is likely
this.

] Question on snails and loaches
Hi--
We have a 125 gallon freshwater tank with a sand bottom. We have I believe
what are trumpet snails. The have long almost V shaped shells, mostly white
in color with light brown markings and they are nocturnal. At first, I
didn't mind the snails because I thought they were good to have them down
into the sand and eating any extra food, but, they are reaching far too many
in the tank.
We have 3 horse face loaches in the tank that I just LOVE, but, have read
that Yoyoloaches will help to eat some of the snails and keep their
populations in check. I am looking for the pro's and con's of adding yoyo
loaches to the tank.
I want to ensure that the Yoyoloach and the clown loaches can live together
in peace. The fish in the tank range from a large male Frontosa to a
variety of male African Cichlids and Peacocks.
Thank you for any advice!!!
