It's really hard at first with the green water - self-doubt and all "Can they really find enough to eat just from that greenwater? Maybe I should put more in". With the microworms it's easier because they live for a full day in water or maybe longer before they die so if you look in and see them moving on the bottom then you know there is still food for the babies.
Brine shrimp start dying really soon tho so you do need to be careful not to overfeed with them. I do a combo when I feed brine shrimp - some brine shrimp then later I add some microworms in case any of them didn't get any brine shrimp. Microworms just lay on the bottom and wiggle until they get eaten and soon the fish learn to go down and look for them if they feel hungry.
But fry REALLY like brine shrimp! I think my bettas would eat them until they burst their bellies! I think breeders get the fast growth from feeding brine shrimp because it's like chocolate to fish - they'll keep eating way past being full and then just get bigger. LOL!
