Irridescent sharks are in no way suitable for a 30 gallon... full grown they get to almost 5 ft long. (yes, I have seen a few adults first hand)
However, catfish is another thing... most suitable for a 30 gallon would be any of the corydoras species, but do your homework as some of them need soft water (such as sterbai) while others can thrive in harder water (albinos and greens). In regards to loaches, any of the botia species would do well in a 30 gallon except for the angelicus (polka dot botia) who get quite large and wouldn't have space for a group of them in that size of a tank. Lochata, striata, etc. all stay smaller and could thrive in a 30 gallon. Again, watch what they need for water parameters, some prefer softer water than others. I have botia striata here right now and they thrive in my hard water.
The other thing to consider is what other fish, if any, you wish to add to this tank? Be sure you are careful of compatibility and not over stocking the tank, especially with loaches who are quite sensitive to water quality.
