Hello Dawn and Ray,
Thanks to both of you for taking the time to explain to me what has happened within the hobby over time.
I've been gone from the hobby for around 30 years now. Yes a lot has changed for sure. I can say one positive thing, and that is, equipment and knowledge has come a long way since I was involved with fish. I'm sure the internet has really played a big part in disseminating knowledge among the hobby too. I can tell you prices sure have increased a lot too. That said, I'll find my present day niche within the hobby. One thing certain is I am going to streamline my daily and weekly maintenance of tanks. I think that chore got me out of the hobby the last time I was in it. Having too many tanks also did a number on me. It was a real pleasure when I no longer had to be changing water in tanks every week.
I think I have found a local Aquarium Store in town dealing in fresh water fish I might really enjoy. It is owned by a woman who has owned the place for a very long time. I think she will be a great help getting started again. I think she wants to accommodate her customers. Houston, Texas is a big place. I've never attended one of the local Aquarium Society meetings. It sure would be great to find someone in town who enjoys natural looking Angel Fish as much as I do.
So again thanks for saying hello to me. As I said, I just joined your group and will be enjoying future posts from other members. It appears there are a bunch of knowledgeable members in this group. All of you, have a nice weekend.
