If you are adjusting the pH of your pond water, it is best to first check the buffering capacity (carbonate hardness or KH). Ideally the KH should be 50 - 150 ppm. Properly buffered water will help maintain a stable pH. Once the KH is in check, pH adjustments can better be made if needed.
