Hi Chris,
You may have received a message from me yesterday on the List, right after
I approved your post, saying only what I just recently discovered as :
(non-text portions of this message have been removed). In addition to the
non-text portions of my message having been removed though, it appears Yahoo also
removed all of the TEXT portions! At least this is what I saw at my end as
I didn't see any further message; I don't know what you received.
The message should have read:
Chris,
As this fish has been like this for two weeks, and as the scales aren't
standing out by now, it may be that it has a swim bladder infection or
malfunction as seen by the fish floating at the surface. If there's an intestinal
blockage, this can cause a swim bladder problem. Eating shelled green peas
and having Epsom salts in the water should help the fish in freeing up such a
blockage. If the fish is defecating normally, a swim bladder infection
may be the cause. The medications to treat this would still be the same, as
an internally absorbable, gram-negative/broad spectrum antibiotic is what
would be needed. (end of that message)
I see since yesterday that you've added more info. I'll address that
separately, after sending this.
Ray
