Yep, Bill, I keep a notebook on my tank from day one. I can't remember
everything that has happened to the tank on a daily basis and it does come
in handy to refer back to. When I kept several tanks years ago this was a
must so as not to get confused on which tank did what and when and when what
maintenance was done to which tank. It helps a lot!
Thanks to everyone for the help on the KH/GH questions.... : )

Hi Suzy,
Just wanted to say thanks for those links. The information supplied
with them is very good. I am one of those people that must fool with his
water because most of the dealers around here all keep neutral tanks. My
water parameters are a mess. pH of 5.5 to 5.8, I have no hardness values at
all and this is all well water. As you can see this requires
a great deal of adding and preparing on my part.
Connie, mentioned that she is keeping Ray's mail reply's back to her. It's
a good practice. I have been in the hobby for quite a while, but since
joining a few groups, have found that keeping Ray's mail, comes in very
handy, and also keeps me from asking the same questions twice. <G> On my
yahoo mail page you can find a folder called
"Ray". I haven't heard it mentioned on this thread yet, at least I don't
think I have, but keeping a notebook is not a bad idea at all. Writing
things down upon my return to the hobby a few years back made things a lot
easier. I can tell you that a good bit of it contains many of Ray's
comments out here on group.
Take care and thanks again for those links! They are in the notebook! <g>
