Hi Fellow Ponders,
I have a sick fish on the mend in a quarantine tank on the mend after a nasty bout of fungus all over his face and head. I've given him 2 treatments of anti fungal meds (yellow powder, can't remember the name right now) and after a couple of days break after water change, am starting the third dose. He is about 90% better with just some slime left around the gills.
My question is whether it would be helpful to try and scrape the rest of that fungus stuff off his face/gills? Or would it just do more harm? If I should scrape, what is the best way to do that? With my hands and some gloves? With a credit card?
Just want to get him fixed up and back in the pond with his buddies. Also, what is the best way to safely drop the temp on the quarantine tank (68*F) back down to pond temp (50*F)? Tank heater only goes down to 66*F and since it is in an unheated garage, it'll drop from 66 to 50 in probably a day or less. Is that bad?
Thx for the help,
David.
