Thanks Donna! I just moved them all to the big tank. I found a LFS that's about 40 mins from me who carries Dr Tim's. I am going to go in the morning and buy some to have, just in case. I also need to get some more Prime. I should probably get another Ammonia test kit too as I'm sure I'll be checking levels for some time. Do you think the beneficial bacteria would have survived in canister filter for 4 days?

I made a mad dash to PetSmart and picked up a 20 gal. tank with a HOB filter and fished all the fish out and put them in the 20 gal. In the meantime I got on craigslist and the day after Christmas bought a used 55 gal acrylic tank. My first acrylic, but wanted to try it out. So I had taken one of the sponges out of my cannister filter that was on the bowfront and put it on the HOB filter. Ammonia continues to go up on the small tank daily so as it gets close to 1.0 I do a 50% water change and add more Prime. I now have the acrylic set up and have put the old cannister filter back on it. I'm wondering if the old cannister filter, which I didn't remove any of the water from will still have enough beneficial bacteria in it to be able to cycle the new tank? The filter has been sitting, not running with the old water in it for 4 days. If it doesn't have enough then I'm

Also, should I move the fish that are in the 20 gal. with ammonia issues to the larger tank and then do 50% water changes every other day on the larger tank until it cycles? Also would I just add the Prime every other day or every day? I hate I was so unprepared for this! I know this has been talked about before, but I did not save any of the emails. Sorry to rehash this subject, but need some help!
