Larry,
Since you have liquid API test kits, why don't you take a sample of the
store's water and test it? Check to see how similar or how different the
store's paramaters are to your's. That the store's test strips show these both
waters are the same, doesn't mean much when the strips can show a wide
variation. As an example, the store's pH might be 6.6 and your's might be 7.4.
The test strips might indicate a pH 7.0 for both of these samples. That
would be too wide of a difference for most fish, if that had the the case.
