That's so sad, so sorry to have had to confirm that they can/will eat small fish if they get the opportunity. Most synodontis are pretty good about leaving tankmates alone, but they are omnivore and opportunistic feeders so with the larger ones there is some level of risk involved in regards to small fish. If you were local I could offer them a good home with my geophagus cichlids in my 215 gallon tank... but I can't afford to buy any fish right now and surely can't afford shipping costs. I hope you are able to find them a good home.

If the synodontis are large enough to eat them then yes, that also could be your problem. I would consider moving them before they get a chance to finish off the cardinals and start hunting rams.

Another tweo lost last night. I saw both Rams and 5 Cardinals last night. This morning, only 3 Cardinals and now Rams. I woonder what the problem is, maybe another Damselfly Larva>
