Hey Danny,
Sounds like a nice area; mostly bass fishing for me here...I get a chance at brown trout (some nice ones) a couple times a year when I travel over to to Pennsylvania and sometimes Rainbows are stocked here (for kids fishing derbies) us old guys can pick up the ones they leave later...will check it out online.

Lake Hume & Lake Dartmouth that feeds into it (+ all the rivers and streams in this part of N.E. Victoria) are the some of the greatest trout fishing areas in Australia. Google will probably tell you more about this area. Also look for Mitta Mitta River, Kiewa River & Upper Murray River. The largest trout that I have ever caught are from the spillway just below the Hume Dam wall. 9lb is my personal best but I have photos of an Australian record trout 17.2lb that was caught a few years ago. I live just opposite the dam wall. Apart from trout fishing, the hunting is pretty good in this area too.
