I was sitting across from my tank when I noticed something small that was darting about in a fish like manner. I couldn't believe what my eyes were telling me. This wasn't just a piece of fiber. This was something that was moving about in an intelligent way and was darting about the small red rock that I have in my aquarium.. This darting thing looked like the tiny replica of a fish.
I grabbed my glasses and went close up. Sure enough my eyes did not betray me. A baby fish. I was awe struck. What kind of a fish is it? Was my next question. It has a blue eye, so my guess is that it could be a Cichlid. I think it swam in Cichlid fashion. His parents died which was very sad for me because I really liked them so he is an orphan Blue Balloon Ram Cichlid. I think they are also called German Rams but I could be wrong. I am not one hundred percent but they look the same.
He is acting very bold.If I remember correctly the male rams have blue eyes. While I am writing this he is swimming in the same area of my tank. I have three rocks in my Aquarium. Two are smallish and the third is big with five holes for swimming through and hiding in. I also have a well planted aquarium.
I am very excited and I am a proud mother.
If anyone knows about Blue Balloon Ram Cichlid rearing I could use some advice. I want him to thrive.
