You echoed my thoughts, lol. I have done similar things in places where I wasn't allowed to "swim". That "oops, I fell in" excuse works real well.
There is a lake off the Mississippi River that I would love to swim in, water not nearly as clear as the lake you were at... but the thing that keeps me out of the water are the large snapping turtles that will literally attack. A couple of summers ago we had to fight with a snapper who's head was bigger than my hand, he kept stealing the fish out of our basket, even tried to climb into the boat a few times. We would haul the basket into the boat and relocate to another part of the lake, yet that same snapper followed us for over 3 hrs, so as soon as our basket of fish went back into the water, there he was, pushing his head up into it trying to take our bluegill. We tried everything, including clubbing the snapper in the head with an oar, but he was relentless. We ended up giving up before he did, and called it a day. When we got home we discovered it was ok because we maxed out or daily limits anyways. Dawn + water = happy. :-) My
kids swear I am part fish and often tease me about looking for fins and gills!

What could they do to you if you happened to fall all the way in off a rock....
I know you would be cold so the polar bear club is great practice.
