Yes, there is a new " salt mix system " that ESV is putting out, but I use the Calcium/buffer system. It was the original B-ionic system that they created.....that said, the new salt mix might be a better way to go, depending on price. I use Tropic marin salt and I never had any issues with that either, so it really has to be phenomenal to make me switch what has not broke in 10+ years......Rick

No, it's a 2 part calcium/alk buffer and you dispense part 1 then part 2. Never had any issues with PH, alk or Calcium since changing over. I believe it's made by ESV products. Phosban in a home made reactor took care of that problem. You really need either a quality test kit or take a sample to your LFS and have it checked. Rick
