Hi Chris,
The medication containing Flubendazole is an excellent choice.
Essentially, it's very similar to the Praziquantel that Jungle Labs uses, and acts on
the pathogen just the same way. There's a small number of other very similar
medications one can use against this malady, including Fenbendazole,.
Piperazine and Mobendazole. Forgot you are in the UK. If Hikari products are
available near you, you could have also used their Prazi-Pro (which is
Praziquantel).
When using the right medication rather than taking a stab in the dark as
others sometimes do, the cure can be surprisingly fast. Glad to hear it's
working already. Good to know about your latest decision -- 'gators are easily
handled when they're no longer than 12", but a real bear to wrestle when
they reach 12'. I'll let you convert that to meters if you'd like; we don't
use that measurement here (LOL).
One cause of glancing ("flashing") against objects, besides Ich, is body
Flukes; they're microscopic, so you couldn't see them. I'm not suggesting
that this is what's causing this behavior, but keep an eye on them to see if it
gets more prevalent. Best of luck.
