[tropical fish club] How to buy healthy plants

 

I recently bought some Java fern plants for my aquarium. My fish are being medicated, so the plants are now in a sunny room (not to hot) in a
small tank.

When I bought the plants they had some black dots on the leaves and some part of some leaves are all black.

1) I an wondering if this is bad? If they are not healthy is there anything I can do to make them healthy?

2)In the future, how can a recognize a good plant from a bad one?

If there is someone else from Israel let me know of a recommended palce to buy plants.
