Thanks,Ray, yes our home is at 68 or cooler in the winter....we use no heat
  in the winter
and sometimes have to turn on the AC during the day, but the nights can get
  down to
65 in the house in January/Feburary months.

I don't really care which type I have as long as I can see what temp I am
  putting it on
  and it does the job.
I will look into these. I just don't trust the heater that came with my tank

The tank has already gone from 78 to 77 degrees. And it is still getting
into the upper 90's here. I keep the house at 78. But the tank has gone
from 78 to 77 according to my thermometer.

I even check the temp of the water using a quick temp check hand held
  thermometer.
It goes from 0 to over 200. It is made for the kitchen and we use it to test
  the temps of
a lot of things, not just food. So I got a new one for the tank. I test the
  water at PWCs with
  this thermometer too. Very handy.

  Thanks again,
  Connie

  Connie,

  I don't know if you're looking for a HOB (Hang-On-Back) heater or a
submersible one. but probably about the best ones you can get are the
  Marineland
Visi-Therm heaters or the Eheim Jagor heaters, both submersible types --
  with
easy dial adjustments for setting the temperature. You'd need one rated at
100 Watts. You actually only need 90 watts, but they don't make them in
that size, and 75 Watts wouldn't cut it if you keep your room cool (like 68
  o).
