[tropical fish club] Qt tank or main tank?

 

I am fishless cycling a 55 gallon tank now. When I am ready to add fish, do I have to put them in a separate quarantine tank for a month of observation or do I just put trek in the main tank since its empty? Also, if adding different types of fish, how do you go about that as far as staggering the time between adding fish or all at once?
