Lost another guppy, body was bloated.
~Sunday
This morning when I came to the tank all the fish were swimming out
to see me....even the platy was happily swimming around.
One guppy (I only have 2 left) is not eating real well, but still swims
around a bit and doesn't hide or stay at top of tank.
Water test at 1pm
Ammonia - .40 best guess as it was in between colors
Nitrite - Less than .25 but not 0
Nitrate - 35 not quite red yet...
PH - 8
GH - 7
KH - 8
Today I decided to do a GH and KH test on my tap water.
I did each test twice because I am starting to wonder how
accurate these API tests are for GH and KH. Or if I am doing
something wrong.
TAP WATER
Test 1: GH - 5 KH - 9
Test 2: GH - 5 KH - 9
Then I did more GH and KH tests on the tank water:
TANK WATER
Test 1: GH - 7 KH - 8
Test 2: GH - 7 KH - 8
Notice over the last several days the tank GH goes back and forth between 6
and 7.
Wonder if that is significant or if it doesn't matter much. KH is holding
pretty steady
but is lower than the tap water KH. And the tank GH is higher than the tap
water....
What does it all mean??? LOL!
BTW, I found out that our city's water is from 3 different sources. Don't
know if that effects
anything at all.
Thanks,
Connie
