I have noticed my GH test keeps going between 6 and 7 drops.
Seems to change a bit between water changes.
Does GH and KH change in water while sitting in a tank?
I decided to test my tap water to see where it all starts out ....
The tap water tests I did twice to be sure.
The GH in my tap water is: 5 drops In my tank it is between 6 and 7
The KH in my tap water is: 9 drops In my tank it is between 7 and 9,
usually 8
I am thinking the tank readings depend on how soon after a water change I
tested.
Now I am wondering why the cities water report says the city water is 319
ppm.
Wouldn't that be Hard water....like 18 drops? But it only takes 5 drops in
my tap
water for the GH test (89ppm). And the KH at 9 is 161.1. Even it you add
those two
together you don't get 319ppm. As always I am not quite getting it. LOL!
My city says the water is Hard. My tests show the GH as Soft and the KH as
Med hard.
I know I must be missing something. ; )
