To add to what Lee suggested, be sure when you are finished to take the tank outdoors on a flat level surface and fill with water to test it before you trust it in your house. It should sit full of water for at least a few days to a week to be sure the new seal is going to hold. 26 gallons of water can make a huge mess and cause a lot of damage if it were to let loose in your home.

I have use aquarium silicon sealant a lot . Works for me. (Use aquarium sealant as it is non toxic to fish. Some silicon sealant is toxic). The tank must be stripped down, cleaned and the when it is TOTALLY dry, put a bead on the inside at the seam. I have no idea why your tank developed a leak. Since this is at a bottom joint and if you use gravel in the tank, why not put a new bead inside the tank along the entire bottom seams, as it would not be noticed once the gravel is back in place. (Great insurance) Don't even think of using the silicon if any gravel is still present in the tank while you attempt repair! Also, you need to let the silicon really harden up before placing water back in the tank. Don't rush the repair. The silicon needs time to cure. Follow the tube's directions fully.

I have a 26 gallon bow front tank. It seems as if the seal broke and I have
a leak in the bottom front left hand side. My question is how hard and
reliable would it be to repair it? Should I just plan on purchasing a new
one and writing this one off as a loss?
